Start the 27th edition of the world’s largest Romani festival, Khamoro, with us! What better way to do it than with an open-air concert under the clear sky. TEREZA „TESSIE“ ONDIČOVÁ (CZE)
With a smooth, velvety voice that has captivated some of the biggest Czech pop stars, Tereza “Tessie” Ondičová is one of the most sought-after Roma singers on the local scene. She grew up surrounded by music and performed on stage when she was just 13 years old. However, she truly made a name for herself about six years ago when she appeared in the singing competition The Voice (CZ). Later, she joined forces with rapper Vajdis, and their joint hit “Nechaj hudbu hrať” [Let the Music Play] has accumulated almost 8 million views on YouTube. Since 2021, “Tessie” has pursued a solo career and her songs such as “But Barvali” and “Dukhal Dukhal” are a must-have at any proper Romani celebration. Gipsy rumba, flamenco, salsa, and classic Romani czárdás! A seven-member group, Ritmo Gitano, has managed to blend all these music styles together in their original work. Though they’ve been playing together for just two years, they’ve already managed to make an impact. In 2023, they won first place at the summer Piknik Festival in Stráž pod Ralskem, and now they are headed to the final of the “Skutečná liga” competition, where they made it to the top six out of 60 bands. This group of talented musicians regularly performs at various festivals across the Czech Republic - and people love them! Ritmo Gitano never lets the crowd stand still, so come and see for yourself how they liven up a show.
He’s one of the most unique voices of the new generation of Romani singers and is a significant favorite of many youngsters. Thomas first rose to fame years ago as a member of the band Roma Boyz, but he is now performing solo under the Blakkwood Records label. In his music, Thomas blends R&B with his own original lyrics reflecting on love, joy, and life. Due to his immense talent, Thomas has collaborated with stars of the current Romani music scene such as the funk king Igor Kmeťo and the popular rapper Refew, while his hit “Ty víš” [You Know] featuring Lucie Bikárová has already surpassed 1.5 million views on YouTube. At Jazz Dock you will experience a phenomenon that has conquered the world with its devilish speed, improvisation, and deep emotions. Captivating guitar melodies, a passion for performing, and an immense talent for music that has astonished audiences around the world - that’s Milan “Angelo” Novák! Even though Angelo is only 18 years old, he has already performed with music legends like the world-renowned guitarist Fapy Lafertin and the phenomenal violinist Roby Lakatoš. Music has always flowed through Milan’s veins and he discovered his love for it at a young age. Coming from a respected musical family, he started playing guitar at just five years old and made a name for himself very early on in his music career. This promising guitarist is currently studying at the Prague Conservatory, but his name is already making waves on the international stage. In addition to the Czech Republic, he has performed in Poland, Austria, and has even gone as far as to Taiwan. Milan is the proof that great music knows no boundaries. Gypsy jazz with a modern twist? That’s right! The phenomenal Italian guitarist Dario Napoli is a musician who isn’t afraid to experiment with his art. Though he usually draws inspiration from the legendary Django Reinhardt, he isn’t afraid to dig deeper into his music and brings elements of bebop, funk, and modern jazz into more traditional gypsy swing, creating fresh, unexpected sounds full of energy! His trio features two more phenomenal musicians – Tonino De Sensi on double bass and Benji Winterstein on rhythm guitar, who is considered by music critics to be one of the best rhythm guitarists in the world. Dario and his band have previously performed at the most prestigious festivals and stages around the world, and of course they can’t miss the world’s largest Romani festival. Musical masters who will bring you to your knees – that’s Galiani Gypsy Jazz from the Czech Republic! Their music is rooted in more classical, traditional sounds, but it still follows Romani czárdás rhythms and incorporates the lightness of jazz. The band is made up of outstanding Romani musicians who are highly educated in music, and when it comes to their arrangements, genres are not boundaries for them, but rather an open canvas for limitless improvisation. The lead violinist, Milan Galyáš, who also performs with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, tours globally and has shared the stage with stars like Ennio Morricone and Andrea Bocelli. Clarinetist Miroslav Filko is one of the most respected virtuosos in the country and even contributed to the soundtrack of “Sherlock Holmes”. At this open-air concert in the heart of Prague you'll also be treated to the captivating voices of brilliant Romani singers like Mária Bikárová and Marta Balážová, who will leave you mesmerized. Devilish virtuosos – that’s Lavutari di Praga! They offer some of the most lavish, high-quality traditional Romani music of the Czech and Slovak Roma! The ensemble is led by none other than the famous violin virtuoso Ivan Herák, who is one of the most sought-after Romani concertmasters. His high-quality arrangements must be heard! Throughout his career, he has collaborated with renowned cultural figures such as Jaroslav Svěcený, Zuzana Lapčíková, Yvetta Blanarovičová, Iva Bittová, and Ida Kelarová. In Lavutari di Praga, Ivan Herák performs with musicians trained in classical music, including his two sons. In their performance, what you can look forward to is the combination of musical instruments such as cimbalom, violin, double bass, and accordion. These "lavutara" (musicians), together with the excellent singer Erika Nováková, will take you back to the times when Romani bands played in every other wine bar or pub, to the days when the czárdás was danced on tables until late at night, and then, in the early morning, people would weep to the melancholic halgata songs.

For the first time ever, Romani musicians from Greece will perform at this year’s Khamoro festival! They will be led by a legend of music, Kostas Pavlidis, who is one of the most prominent Romani artists in that land of gods and myths. He’s a singer, guitarist, and composer from Athens who has successfully blended traditional music with modern elements and created a unique style of music that has never been heard before. Along with his Romani rhythm, Pavlidis’ music also incorporates flamenco, funk, Latin, and Oriental styles of music. He has been performing on stage since the age of 12, and because of his years of experience, his performances are unforgettable and unique. Pavlidis’ fame came from the hit “Jastar Amenge Dur”, which he recorded with other Romani artists and which to this day remains one of the most iconic Romani songs in Greece. Thanks to his unique musical sensibility, Pavlidis has won the hearts of not only Roma audiences, but also listeners worldwide. He simply cannot be missed at Khamoro!
BALLET FLAMENCO SERGIO GONZÁLEZ (ESP)
A dance where passion meets precision, where silence has the same power as the click of a heel, and where every movement tells a beautiful story. This year don’t miss out on the magnificent flamenco at Khamoro! This show is not just a touristy folk performance or a polished spectacle, but a performance prepared for Khamoro by the Ballet Flamenco under Sergio González, and it is completely different from what you might expect. A raw, dynamic, mesmerizing, and astonishing performance is what awaits you. Dancer and choreographer Sergio González, who leads the company, captivates audiences worldwide with his artistry, as his movements are precise, energetic, and full of emotion. When he was just five years old, Sergio began his dance journey, training at the most prestigious dance academies in the birthplace of flamenco, Andalusia's Seville. The group was founded over 20 years ago by the parents and their children, and ever since they have been touring all over Europe. Their album “Asvin” made it into the top 20 world music recordings according to the World Music Charts Europe. The band collaborates with many leading Hungarian and international musicians, including cimbalom player Kálmán Balogh and Serbian trumpeter Boban Marković. Over the last 15 years, they have performed at the world’s most prestigious festivals and even provided musical accompaniment for fashion shows by Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld. The legendary Ekrem Mamutović Orkestar is not just one of the most renowned Romani brass bands in Serbia, but is also known worldwide. The members of this band come from Vranje in southern Serbia, a town where brass band music is passed down from generation to generation. That is why the Mamutović family is considered one of the greatest masters in the world. This band is led by the virtuoso trumpeter Ekrem Mamutović, the successor to one of the oldest Romani musical families in the Balkans. At the age of 12 he was already performing onstage, so it’s no surprise to hear he practically grew up with a trumpet in his hand. The group was founded by his great-grandfather more than 100 years ago, and just like his ancestors, Ekrem has won numerous awards at the famous brass music festival in the mountainous Serbian town of Guča.
